This artwork is a little love letter to my childhood dog, Bella, and the comfort, companionship and unconditional love she gave me growing up.

I have such fond memories of stroking the bridge of her nose, slowly running my hand down the middle and instantly feeling calm. We spent so much time playing together on the grass, sharing those simple, beautiful moments that stay with you long after they're gone.

Created from paper mâché, this playful puppy is brought to life with bright, joyful colours, softened by a wash over the surface. The colours feel a little like memories themselves — vivid and full of life, yet gently fading around the edges as time passes.

For me, this piece is about the special bond we share with our animals and how, without saying a word, they can make us feel safe, loved and understood.

A little reminder that sometimes our most treasured memories have four legs, a wet nose and a place forever in our hearts.
