Some things have the power to make us smile the moment we see them. For me, it's a blanket made by my mum. Knowing how much time, care and love went into every stitch fills me with an instant sense of warmth and happiness. It's more than just a blanket — it's a little piece of her love that I get to keep.

A Shimmer of Happiness is inspired by that feeling of comfort and connection. Created from paper mâché, the artwork features colourful painted patches reminiscent of a handmade quilt, brought together by a smiling face layered in blue glitter.

The glitter catches the light, adding a little sparkle to an artwork about the simple things that make life brighter. It's a celebration of handmade treasures, the love we put into creating things for others, and the beautiful way everyday objects can hold so much meaning.
