Sometimes happiness isn't loud or obvious. Sometimes, it's quietly stitched into the little things we surround ourselves with.

A Patchwork of Happiness is part of a series inspired by the comfort and love I feel when looking at a handmade blanket created by my mum. Knowing how much time, care and love went into making it reminds me that the most meaningful things are often those made by hand, with someone special in mind.

Created from paper mâché, this artwork features a collection of colourful painted patches, reminiscent of a well-loved patchwork quilt. Hidden within the pattern is a subtle smiling face, painted in a slightly darker shade that blends into the surface. Unlike its companion piece, A Shimmer of Happiness, this smile doesn't sparkle or immediately catch your eye. Instead, it's something you discover when you take a closer look.

This artwork will be exhibited at Sonny & Betty from 1 November to 30 November. You’re welcome to purchase the artwork during the exhibition, with delivery arranged once the exhibition has finished on 30 November.
